Saint Dionysus

We finally put all the interior xmas decor up. Spent all yesterday building the Lego decorations, but we finished them all and it was really fun. Finished wrapping most of the gifts as well. Kate and Bryan are having guests over from the 16th til New years, so probably going to deep clean the living rooms and the kitchen soon.
I spent all of today re-reading The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, felt like I needed to brush up on them before I work on some of the Fics that I'm working on right now! Also, finally picked up Strangers by Graham Robb ( a book on homosexuality in the Victorian age) for research purposes and delighted by the end of the book where he chooses to talk at length about Holmes and Watson's relationship. I certainly recommend the read to anyone interested in that sort of thing.
Tomorrow I have a doctors appointment, so I'll have to actually leave the house, woe is I. However, it'll help move my divisibility case along, so it's with good purpose.

Sometimes I'll be reading something with an autistic character and go "ah, an allistic person wrote this", sometimes I'll be reading something with an ace character and go "ah, an allo person wrote this.", and sometimes I'll be reading something with a gay male character and go "ah, a cishet woman wrote this."

When I read BBC Sherlock Fanfiction, I get to do all three at the same time.

Twitter is a hell-site, but what's new there. The current queer discourse is rather exhausting, how many times do we have to go through this phase where everyone wants to be a label gatekeeper and tell other people what they are or aren't and hat they can and can't feel? It's abhorrent the amount of radfem rhetoric teens are spitting out today. It's so worrisome, the amount of aggression and hate these kids can pull out whenever someone has a less "conventional" identity or one that's openly fluid.
It seems we're all being attacked for the grievous crime of queering queer identities. It seems tumblr and twitter has trained so much of the queer youth into believing that sexuality and gender are these static things that you are undeniably born with and can never move and that everyone most fit into one singular box with a list of rules on what everyone can and can't do according to that box. When did queerdom become as performative and neat as cishet-normativity?
I can't help but note that this discourse all comes with the raise in discourse over what is "morally acceptable" content in fandom. It's just radfem bullshit all over again. The policement of queer labels, anti-porn ideology, and victim blaming.
It's stressful as all hell.
I think it's undeniable at this point that capitalist social media is at the heart of this issue. The lack of moderation, combined with the fact that capital based social media makes money off the engagement of discourse and hate, makes the perfect breeding ground for radfems and other exclusionists to thrive and indoctrinate.

Back to doing these! Finally got around to putting the Rosin on my bow and it's as I feared, the hair has gone slack and is in need of replacing, It'll have to wait until a much later date when I have money I can spend. I just finished off the rest of my disposable income this morning getting x-mas gifts for my roommates.

I've been working on compiling a comprehensive guide to Polari, queer sub-cultural information, and mlm terminology that's period appropriate to the late Victorian age. Which is a massive undertaking. While there a lot of available information on cisgender lesbians in the Victorian age, there is a great lack on information available in regards to queer men of the age, for obvious reasons. So, I am deep in the research hole at the moment, but I've collected a mass of information and I'm working on getting more and organizing it in a Scrivner document (fun fact: scrivner, is actually comes from a Polari term!)

Once I "finish" with the document, I can post it here, if anyone is interested? I figure it would be helpful for Holmes fanfiction and pastiche writing, at the very least.

Finally got to putting Rosin on my new bow, the hair seems a bit slack , but hopefully it doesn't need to be re-haired, I don't have the funds for it right now. Hands are cramping now though, my fingers greatly protest my counted use of the violin. At least with the Russian hold there isn't as much strain on my pinkie, god bless the folks out there using the Franco-Belgian hold, don't know how they cope.
